About Earthbound Yoga

Long before Tami and Terry actually met, they were walking similar paths in search of one another. From an early age they both experienced a strong connection to this beautiful planet. Tami traveled to Asia and Central America, learning to be a healer in the ancient ways of people who are still in touch with the Earth. Terry traveled to Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and spent considerable time with Native American tribes of the southwest. He too was learning the healing arts.
When they finally found each other, the true adventure began. They took off to Peru for four months, living and studying with the Quechua indians, the Chachapoyas, and the ancestors of the Inca. In Peru they climbed the melting glaciers of the Andes, and journeyed deep into the Amazon basin. They explored the ruins of ancient civilizations and marched in solidarity with the impoverished camposinos. And they spent nine hours in an all-night wedding ceremony being married by a shaman named Don Juan. Don Juan Tripul married them to one another…and to Pachamama, an ancient ceremony that included the Earth.
After making their formal declaration to the Earth in Peru, they sold their home and belongings and spent six months in India, where they studied Advanced Yoga and Ayurveda. Their teachers included a Himalayan master (Babaji, pictured on this page), a teacher of the Agni tradition, and one of the most incredible Ayurvedic doctors in the world.
There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is everything that we have ever learned from parents, teachers, schools, media, etc. Wisdom is ours alone because we can only get it
through direct experience. This is why a practice like Yoga, or hiking in the forest, or sleeping beneath a desert sky are so important. No one else can make us wise…it is up to each of us.
Yoga means Union
. Tami and Terry founded Earthbound Yoga to help create a stronger bond, a deeper union between Yogis and the Earth. Yoga itself was born in that bond, in the high, wind-whispered caves of the Himalayas where the Earth spoke to the first Yogi, and revealed the divine secrets of harmony and peace.
The old ways are becoming new again. Yoga, the healing arts, a daily spiritual practice…all these are critical to the urgent need for awakening. This is an exciting time to be alive, to transcend the world of mere knowledge into deep wisdom.
Tami and Terry balance the yin/yang, male/female energy by co-teaching classes, workshops, performing weddings and some of their healing services together. Their compassionate commitment to their students, clients and the Earth are evident, supporting each individual's journey.
The thoughtless human impact on our world through pollution, deforestation, and harmful chemicals released into the environment has brought about one of the darkest periods of mass extinction in Earth's history. But by healing ourselves, and taking responsibility for our planet, we truly can save our Great Mother, our only home, One Yogi at a Time
.
So please join us for an Earthbound experience. Step onto the sacred space of your mat or relax on our table, take a breath, and celebrate the divine that awaits within.
